I rarely ever use any references, unless It's an animal or some really complex machinery. But even then, I rarely ever do. Despite that, I still collect reference photos for if I need them. (Hasn't happened yet)

I used to only use them when I was dealing with a difficult pose, but I've actually started using them more often. Even if it's something I think I already know how to draw, I figure I can draw it even better with a reference. I'm not a beginner, though, I just like references for some reason. XD

i use reference only to make sure i've got something right... like anatomy (and fire and fish and horses and animals in general...)

I may use some the reference(including the seinen/erotic type) for further style & challenge the difficulties, especially the machine or the view of the characters from each sides. I already know the basics of drawing, I still need it for more stronger & realistic structure for my further creations of my new style;since I haven't draw for a long time, I would need the reference more than before.
